Kick-off hybrid meeting and staff initial capacity building held in during the Erasmus+ Days 2026

As part of the initiatives at 94th Secondary School “D. Strashimirov” (Sofia) dedicated to “Erasmus Days 2026” (October 12–17, 2026), the first working meeting and training session for the project “Advanced AI peer mentoring model for support and prevention of dropout of disadvantaged students in VET” (STEMentor) was held in a hybrid format on October 14th, 2026.

The event brought together participants from the 94th Secondary School “Dimitar Strashimirov” and representatives from partner organizations in Bulgaria and Greece. The project falls under Key Action 2 of the Erasmus+ Programme—”Small-scale Partnerships in VET”—and has a duration of 14 months (October 1, 2026 – November 30, 2027).

The project focuses on developing and implementing an advanced peer mentoring model within STEM disciplines, integrated with the use of artificial intelligence to support students and prevent early school leaving—specifically targeting disadvantaged learners within the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

This inaugural meeting and training session on STEM-based peer mentoring methodology marked the beginning of the collaboration among the participants, highlighting the importance of international partnership, the exchange of experience, and the sharing of best practices for the development of modern, inclusive education.

At the heart of the project lie opportunities to employ innovative educational approaches that foster active student participation, mutual assistance, and peer collaboration.

Combining STEM education with the potential of artificial intelligence opens up new avenues for personalized support, increased motivation, and the development of digital competencies. This event is part of 94th Secondary School’s commitment to promoting European educational cooperation and innovation, while creating opportunities for the learning and development of every student.

The collaboration between 94th Secondary School—acting as the project coordinator—and its partners, the “Bulgarian Inclusion Support Team” (Bulgaria) and “Mentris” (Greece), represents a step toward sharing new ideas and experiences, all in the pursuit of a more accessible, high-quality, and future-oriented education.
